Students will attend all lessons, classes, tests and examinations during formal terms or semesters and will abide by the rules and regulations of Academies Australasia Polytechnic (AAPoly). Holders of Student Visas should note that some courses (e.g. ELICOS) dictate a minimum attendance average of 80% and it is our policy to monitor attendance and enforce the regulation.

For all courses, AAPoly will monitor students’ attendance as a duty of care and because there is a strong correlation between attendance and academic performance. Another visa condition for international students is the responsibility to maintain satisfactory academic performance and to complete their courses of study within their Confirmation of Enrolment periods. Students will be given further information about their student visa obligations at their Orientations and should consult the student handbook (PDF) for more useful links to the ESOS Framework for more information.

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) grants Student Visas only for full-time study. Full-time study is defined as 20 hours per week face-to-face instruction on the premises (or other premises as required). Students are advised to check the DIBP’s website for current updates to student visa conditions.
